10. OCTOPUS – PAUL ALLEN co-founder of Microsoft
When it was built it was the biggest yacht in existence, and is still 14th largest superyacht to this day! Its 414 feet holds two choppers (and helipads), 7 tenders including one that’s 63 feet long itself, a pool, basketball court, and even two submarines! You could get yourself a rib charter and attempt to dock in at the jet-ski hatches.
9. THE NADINE – JORDAN BELFORT mega-famous stockbroker
You’ll have seen this one in The Wolf of Wall Street. Not necessarily the most expensive or massive yacht on the list at about 130 feet, but there’s definitely no way you’re setting foot on it; bought with money that Belfort shouldn’t legally have owned and played host to many a decadent party before it sunk off the east coast of Sardinia.
8. MIRABELLA V – JOSEPH VITTORIA CEO of Avis
$50million. At 247 feet long, and its mast being 292 feet tall, it goes further up and down than left and right! That’s too tall to fit beneath the Golden Gate Bridge, or any bridge it can navigate to in fact, so it resides mainly in the Mediterranean and Caribbean. Do you live there?
7. RISING SUN – LARRY ELLISON CEO of Oracle Corporation / DAVID GEFFEN business magnate
It’s no surprise that Ellison had to sell this beast for being too big- 453 feet is too long apparently, but not for Geffen. Apparently $200million is not too much to pay for it either. I’m not sure he’ll let you on for a year’s wage.
6. REGINA D’ITALIA – DOLCE & GABBANA fashion house
If you’re throwing yacht parties with models and celebrities, you’d do well to add a giant inflatable water slide. Who knew you could have the graceful elegance associated with D&G and the fun-activity functionality of a waterpark all in one place? Well you didn’t know, because you’re not a world-class supermodel.
5. THE SAVARONA – EMILY ROEBLING CADWALLADER granddaughter of John A. Roebling
This luxury state motor yacht is over 80 years old and nearly 450 feet long, features a pool, a 260 tonne marble Turkish bath, a library, a movie theatre, a 282 feet gold-trim staircase, and even an on-board hospital!
4. AL SALAMAH – SULTAN BIN ABDUL AZIZ late Prince of Saudi Arabia
“A ride on a $200million 456 feet long 8-deck vessel with an on-board spa, gym, business centre, library, and cinema?!” Keep dreaming- this has never been available for public hire.
3. SEVEN SEAS – STEVEN SPIELBERG film director
All you have to do is direct Schindler’s List, Jurassic Park, and Jaws and then you’ll be able to hang out on this yacht that has an infinity pool with a 15 foot glass wall that transforms into an outdoor movie-screen you can show your repertoire on.
2. A – ANDREY MELNICHENKO Russian billionaire
This peculiarly fast and stealthy megayacht has been compared to the Zumwalt class destroyers of the US Navy in design. But that’s not to say it’s not pure extravagant luxury; Andrey’s master suite inside is reported to take up two and a half thousand square feet and be surrounded by bulletproof glass! You can’t even get past the fingerprint scanner.
1. ECLIPSE – ROMAN ABROMOVICH Russian businessman
I haven’t been watching the football but is Chelsea laying waste to all opponents recently or something? $800million. Over 500 feet long. 24 guest rooms, some pools and Jacuzzis, and a disco hall. A five thousand square feet suite with a private garden. As well as an intruder detection system, it can detect cameras and has an anti-paparazzi laser-shield, so you fully are never ever boarding this yet in a million years.
